Inveraray Castle is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of the Clan Campbell and the iconic, must-see visitor attraction on the West Coast of Scotland.
Inveraray is easily one of the most iconic castles in Scotland, but there’s a lot more to it than that. What about a wander in our recently opened gardens, a woodland walk and a visit to our traditional tearoom?

The garden is well worth a visit, regardless of the time year. The daffodils around Easter cover the policies with various shades of yellow, replaced by the vibrant reds, pinks and whites of the rhododendrons and azaleas that the West Highlands are famous for. Other highlights are the heathers, roses and varied trees that are spectacular later in the summer and autumn.

Our traditional tearoom offers a range of teas, coffee, home baking, light meals, snacks and ice creams
Run personally by the Duchess, the Castle Tearoom offers a mouth-watering menu using the best of local and West Highland ingredients.

The Scottish-sourced menu includes the best of Mull cheddars and Arran Ice creams, while our soups, quiches and scones are made daily in the Castle and our cakes and tray-bakes are made on the Estate.

Visitors can enjoy a light meal, a crisp salad or freshly prepared sandwiches. We are lucky enough to have the world-renowned Inverawe Smokehouse as a neighbour, with its smoked salmons, meats and locally caught seafood. There is also a wide choice of natural fruit juices, waters and first-class coffees and teas. We also serve wines and beers.

The vaulted basement ceilings and painted stone walls have been used to create a calming environment in which to relax and re-charge before visiting the excellent Castle Gift Shop and castle gardens.
